Scott Smith, CCAM, CCAM-PM, CAMEx

Principal

Scott was raised in Ohio and Connecticut and has lived in California since 1974. He received a B.A. degree from Boston University in Broadcast Journalism and afterward accepted a commission in the United States Navy serving a three year tour of duty as the Public Affairs Officer for the Naval Construction Training Center in Port Hueneme, CA.

Upon leaving the Naval Service, Scott pursued studies at Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College earning both a Th.G and B.A. degree while serving in various capacities at First Baptist Church in Costa Mesa. From 1981, Scott worked for the Cities of Irvine, Lakewood and Moorpark in Community Services and Public Works and received a B.A. in Recreation Administration from California State University, Long Beach.

Scott entered the Association management field in 1987 serving as the on-site General Manager for a large-scale single-family home association in Orange County. He joined the staff of The Emmons Company in 1991 where he served as Executive Manager of the company’s Orange County office and the Information Systems Manager for the entire company. In 2001, Scott accepted a position with Progressive Community Management serving as Executive Director for Three Arch Bay Association and Community Services District. While with Progressive, Scott also served as the company’s Director of Operations.

Scott holds the prestigious CCAM certification, the CCAM-PM certification and CAMEx designation from the California Association of Community Managers and is extremely excited about using his talents and experiences as Principal of South Coast Property Management. He resides in Costa Mesa with his wife, Kelley.

Gricelda Ayala

Vice President of Operations

I have lived and studied in Orange County all my life and have enjoyed all it has to offer.  I am currently married and have two boys ages 27 and 24 and a 6 year old granddaughter.  Family is very important to me and having a position that allows me to work and go home at the end of the day and enjoy my family is something I really appreciate and am thankful for.  During my free time, I enjoy watching movies with my family. Disney movies are my favorite.  We enjoy having family and friends over for BBQ’S or just for a family gathering.

I look forward to serving you and hope that we will develop a good working relationship. I have been in the association management industry for 20 years with an extensive background in customer service and administrative matters. Being a part of South Coast Property Management is really exciting for me. I believe in Scott’s goals for his company and will do all I can to achieve those goals and to bring quality service to all homeowners.

Tamara L. Smith

Community Manager

Tamara is a native Orange County girl, with a BA in Business Management and has served in many roles such as office manager, software trainer, accounting and budget development, online education development, customer service, contract development, business owner, extensive background with general contractor related services and business needs, and has served in many volunteer leadership roles which bring to South Coast fresh ideas and skills that will benefit South Coast and our clients.

Additionally, Tamara has served as an Association board member in various roles with over 15 years’ experience.  Her experience provides insight to South Coast from the owner, tenant and board of directors point of view that will assist South Coast in providing seamless service that will assist in expanding and improving the needs of our clients.

When not working, she enjoys her many DIY projects, running, lifetime learning and spending time with family and friends.

Tamara is excited to meet our clients and providing our personal-style of serving our owners and Board of Directors.

Leslie Arteaga

Administrative Assistant

Leslie fills an Administrative Assistant role for the company and will be assisting Vice President of Operations, Gricelda Ayala in day to day functions of company operations particularly in moving forward with South Coast’s goal of digitizing all association business records.

Leslie comes to South Coast with a background and experience in office & retail administration. She lives in Orange County and attends enjoys the outdoors in her free time.
